SRA International Inc. has won a contract to support the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services“™ health care integrated general ledger accounting system (HIGLAS).
According to a company statement, the five-year contract includes options that, if exercised, would bring the total contract value to $92 million.

SRA is tasked with providing operations and maintenance support for CMS“™s Oracle federal financials system and support for potential enhancements, including the integration of business process re-engineering and new functionality mandated by the Affordable Care Act.
CMS administers the nation“™s Medicare program and the state children’s health insurance program and is run by the Department of Health and Human Services.
HIGLAS keeps records of Medicare claims, financial transactions, grants and administrative payments for financial management and reporting and according to SRA, processes more than five million transactions per day and accounted for over $700 billion in Fiscal Year 2011.
