Science Applications International Corp. and Motorola Solutions are partnering to offer government and enterprise customers an open architecture and mobile applications, the companies announced Thursday.
SAIC said it will use Motorola Solutions’ RhoMobile Suite to give clients a path to acquiring, building and managing mobile products and systems by using the software-as-a-service approach.
“We are excited to address the growing demand for managed application distribution,” said Linda Howard, SAIC’s senior vice president and general manager for homeland and civilian solutions.
Howard added the company is investing in RhoMobile technology to create a custom-branded app store and for managing different types of applications on multiple device.
The partnership uses business models not previously available, said Paul Mueller, VP for federal sales at Motorola Solutions.
Close to 1.5 million potential information technology customers will receive mobile services under the arrangement, according to the companies.
SAIC will provide app development and management services along with internal apps from several different SAIC organizations in its enterprise app store.
Motorola Solutions developed RhoMobile for developers to write an application that looks and acts the the same on different types of mobile devices and mobile operating systems.
