ICF International has won a $12.1 million, five-year grant from the U.S. Education Department to operate a regional center working with school districts, the company announced Thursday.
The Appalachia Regional Comprehensive Center is one of 15 regional centers that work to help education departments in Kentucky, Tennessee, Virginia and West Virginia help districts and schools meet goals.
“We are pleased and honored to be chosen to by the Department of Education to oversee the ARCC, which adds to ICF“™s portfolio of regional education program support,“ said Maureen Murphy, an ICF senior vice president. “Locating our ARCC efforts at the ICF office in Charleston, W.Va., we look forward to operating the center and assisting the U.S. Department of Education“™s efforts to provide state education agencies with intensive technical assistance in support of students.”
Federal funds will finance the entire cost of operating the ARCC and there will be no non-governmental financing, the company said.
