John Wade, a vice president and manager of the joint and interagency group in Battelle“™s national security division, has been appointed chairman of the National Defense Industrial Association’s division overseeing chemical and biological defense issues.
Battelle said Wade succeeds retired Army Brig. Gen. Dean Ertwine, a Battelle colleague who served as chairman for six years.
Battelle brings a history of working with industry and government partners, Wade said in Battelle’s release.
Chartered in 1996, the division advocates for information exchange related to defending against weapons of mass destruction among the Defense Department and other agencies, industry and academia.
Wade, a 13-year Battelle veteran, has served as co-chair of the NDIA’s chemical and biological defense acquisition initiative forum for the past two years.
Before joining Battelle, Wade served 22 years active duty in the Army Veterinary Corps, retiring as a colonel.
He has also served in the Pentagon as acting deputy assistant to the defense secretary for counterproliferation and chemical and biological defense.
