Serco‘s U.S. subsidiary will receive an Air Traffic Control Association industry achievement award for one of the company’s Colorado-based air traffic control towers, the company announced Friday.
Serco will receive the award Oct. 1 during the 57th ATCA Annual Conference and Exposition at National Harbor, Md.
According to the company, the Earl F. Ward Memorial Award is given to one out of nearly 600 air traffic control facilities in the U.S.
Lockheed Martin will also accept an industrial award from the ATCA for helping the Federal Aviation Administration develop a new computer system for managing air traffic.
Serco runs Eagle County Regional Airport’s air traffic control facility and says it helped the airport reduce delays by 98 percent and delay times by 86 percent.
Tower staff and local users also implemented procedural changes, equipment upgrades and a new web-based status information area.
Serco will also exhibit its aviation services at the ATCA exposition Oct. 1 through Oct. 3.
