Science Applications International Corp. has won a potential $48 million prime contract to provide program management and engineering support to U.S. Navy air traffic control and landing systems, SAIC announced today.
The Naval Air Systems Command awarded the contract with one-year base and two one-year option periods to support the Naval Air Warfare Center Aircraft Divisions“™ Air Traffic Control and Landing Systems Division.
SAIC SVP and business unit GM Jim Thigpen said the contract is one of SAIC’s longest running in the Patuxent River area, and look forward to improving electronic systems in air traffic control and landing systems.
SAIC said it will perform technical and management services to support the ATC&LS division in areas of research, design, development, training, and logistics.
Work also covers technical support of ATC&LS programs through technology assessment; system engineering; system performance analyses; system test and evaluation support; system level procurement package development; training; local area network support; and operational site maintenance.
The single-award cost-plus-fixed-fee contract requires work to be performed at contractor facilities and at NAWCAD in Patuxent River, St. Inigoes, Md., and Jacksonville, Fla.
The ATC&LS Division delivers ATC&LS design, engineering, and installation for the U.S. Navy, Marine Corps and Defense Department to help the fleet identify and track targets in combat and air traffic control environments.
