Rockwell Collins has promoted 25-year company veteran Kelly Ortberg to president, where he will work with Chairman and CEO Clay Jones in the company’s newly-formed office of the chief executive.

The company also announced Monday who will succeed Ortberg as leader of the government systems unit (GovCon Wire has the story here).
Jones credited Ortberg with helping shaping, developing and implementing many of the company’s strategies.
Ortberg will hold primary responsibility for operational management of the company, including oversight of its commercial and government businesses and supporting functions.
He previously led government systems for two years and, prior to that, served as executive vice president and chief operating officer of commercial systems for four years.
He has also served as VP and general manager of communications systems within the government systems unit.
