SAIC Inc. will provide security and logistics services to the U.S. Air Force Special Operations Command for unmanned aerial vehicle stations, the company announced Wednesday.
Under the potential five-year, $35 million contract, the company will also provide air combat control to the command’s UAV ground stations and its combined operations center.
The company will help the command carry out UAV missions as part of the war on terrorism said John Fratamico, a senior vice president and business unit general manager.
Contract terms include one base year, four one-year options and AFSOC awarded the single-award, cost-plus fixed-fee contract.
Work will primarily occur at Cannon Air Force Base in Clovis, N.M.; Nellis Air Force Base in Las Vegas; and Hurlburt Field-Ft. in Walton Beach, Fla.
SAIC is also providing the Navy environmental qualification design and other engineering services for command, control, communications, computers and intelligence missions.
