Northrop Grumman“™s electronic systems division has won a $9.5 million contract with the Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency to engage in research and development efforts.
In an Aug. 17 notice, FedBizOpps said Northrop will explore the reconfigurability and programmability of RF transceivers to multiple systems.
Work under the contract involves the identification of five RF systems and the development of a reconfigurable and programmable transceiver that can duplicate the systems“™ functionality in a single platform while maintaining performance.
The transceivers are also expected to provide performance gains and must be reconfigurable to other arbitrary waveform characteristics.
In addition, DARPA requires the RF transceivers to be capable of future applications to any unknown RF standard, FedBizOpps said.
