General Atomics has won a $44.5 million task order under a basic ordering agreement to provide logistics support for the CVN 78 electromagnetic aircraft launch system.
The Defense Department said Wednesday the cost-plus-fixed-fee order calls for research and development logistics efforts for the maintenance of the CVN 78 system.
Under the contract, General Atomics will develop supportability analysis, logistics management information database, reliability centered maintenance guidance, repair level analysis, maintenance plans, and technical manuals and training.
Ninety-percent of work will occur in San Diego, Calif., with the rest in Lakehurst, N.J. and is estimated to be completed by April 2016.
The Naval Air Systems Command, Patuxent River, Md., is the contracting activity.
