Executive Profile: William Schuster, GeoEye Chief Operating Officer - top government contractors - best government contracting eventWilliam “Bill” Schuster joined GeoEye in December 2004 as chief operating officer and manages and directs the satellite imagery provider’s information technology, operations, engineering and business processes.

A 22-year CIA veteran, Schuster spent the last 14 years of his agency service assigned to the National Reconnaissance Office, where he helped develop, engineer and operate many of the most advanced U.S. reconnaissance and surveillance systems.

He has spent more than 28 years overall managing operations for space applications and communication systems, and is also responsible for GeoEye’s facilities and security, order management, quality assurance and customer service.

His previous private sector executive positions include president of integrated systems for BAE Systems, vice president of programs within Harris Corp.’s government communications systems division and vice president of Loral Space and Range Systems‘ space applications operation.

Schuster earned an undergraduate Bachelor of Science degree in electrical engineering from the Polytechnic Institute of Brooklyn and has completed Pennsylvania State University‘s graduate Executive Management Program and the Mahler Advanced Management Skills Program.
