CGI has developed a new mobile application to help the state of Virginia run its electronic procurement system, where small businesses track business opportunities with state government entities.
The company said it partnered with the state’s Internet-enabled mobile device team to create eVA Mobile 4 Business, which provides solicitation details, integrated calendars, personalized watch lists and search features.
“Success in business today requires real-time, mobile access to business opportunities,” Gov. Bob McDonnell said in the announcement.
Thousands of small businesses can participate in the state’s procurement processes, according to Mark Boyajian, a CGI senior vice president.
The app is available on both Apple and Android devices.
Forbes.com lists Virginia and the eVA app as one of the top 10 state or local governments utilizing software-as-a-service in a cloud computing infrastructure.
CGI is also helping the city of San Diego develop applications under a potential seven-year contract, which has five base years and two option years.
