ICF To Assess Pollutant Risk For EPA; Mark Lee Comments - top government contractors - best government contracting eventICF International has won a re-compete contract to help the Environmental Protection Agency carry out program initiatives under the Clean Air Act, the company announced Tuesday.

The $12 million contract has one base year and four option years.

For 15 years, the company has developed risk assessment methods for the EPA’s office of air quality planning and standards and conducted technical evaluations of air pollutants, said Mark Lee, a vice president.

ICF also performs technical risk assessments for the agency’s air toxics and criteria air pollutant programs, he added.

The company will help prepare reports to Congress, assess chemical exposure risks, develop and apply models for exposure, identify pollution sources and handle risk communication.

Work will support the office’s health and environmental impacts division, which is responsible for risk assessment and other scientific and technical analyses related to public health.

ICF’s previous work for the office has included developing risk assessment methods for hazardous air pollutants.
