Doris Heim

Doris Heim is a principal vice president at Bechtel, where she serves as manager of marketing and business development for the company’s systems and infrastructure segment.

She has responsibility for business and proposal strategies, partnerships and relationships with government customers and sites in the U.S. and worldwide.

According to the company, she brings experience in areas of business management including finance, contracts, procurement, human resources, information technology, training and administration.

She previously served as the segment’s chief procurement officer and had responsibility for the procurement, subcontracts and prime contracts functions.

The company says she handled more than $2.5 billion in annual spending associated with $45 billion of contracts for multiple agencies.

Before that, she served as a director for business services at Los Alamos National Laboratory, which a company composed of Bechtel, the University of California, B&W and URS Corp. manages and operates for the Energy Department.

She oversaw all business systems and processes for the laboratory, which has a budget the company estimates at $2.5 billion and where more than 10,000 employees work.

Her responsibilities also included human resources, procurement and property, central training, information resource management and business systems and processes in the CFO organization and IT.

As CFO and business services manager for systems and infrastructure, she managed more than 1,000 personnel in 7 offices and 80 project locations.

In an earlier role, she was based in London to help the U.K.’s Department of Trade and Industry create a new agency, the U.K. Decommissioning Authority.

She helped the agency provide environmental management contracting and oversight for nuclearcleanup at more than 20 sites.

As business services manager for the Y-12 National Security Complex, which Bechtel helps manage and operate for DOE, she led supply chain management, property management, information systems and technology, office and administrative services and the Six Sigma program.

Prior to that, she worked as general manager of Bechtel“™s Oak Ridge, Tenn. office, leading 250 personnel in procurement, property, finance, human resources, information systems, training, office administration, community relations, business development and projects for government and commercial clients.

Her public sector experience includes 7 years as a contracting officer for DOE.

She holds a bachelor’s degree in accounting from the University of Tennessee and has completed training in business management and leadership.
