
Xerox Corp. has won a potential $105 million contract to continue supporting Medicaid healthcare delivery in New Mexico, the company announced Tuesday.
The state’s Human Services Department awarded the 58-month contract to manage and upgrade the state’s Medicaid Management Information System.
Medicaid recipients will view their own eligibility data online, request new identification cards and search for providers up to 100 miles away from an address.
The company has supported the state’s Medicaid services since 1994 and also supports 11 other states, the District of Columbia and the Labor Department.
In New Mexico last year, the company processed 23 million claims and $3.5 billion in Medicaid payments.
Nationwide, Xeros processes more than 570 million Medicaid claims and $50 billion in payments per year, the company said.
Xerox’s ACS Inc. announced in March that it had begun to manage California“™s Medicaid claims processing system under a $1.6 billion contract signed in 2010.
