Raytheon Renews GPS Contract With UK Defense Ministry; Bob Delorge Comments - top government contractors - best government contracting eventRaytheon Co. has won an estimated $95 million contract to provide a GPS laser-guided munition system for the British military, the company announced Wednesday.

The company’s U.K.-based unit and missile systems unit developed the Paveway IV munition through a joint program.

Bob Delorge, the company’s chief executive in the U.K., said the British air force has used Paveway since 2008.

The British government deployed the system on its Harrier GR9 aircraft in 2008 and on the Tornado GR4 aircraft in 2009.

Wing Commander Clive Roads said the country used the munition system during the 2011 coalition campaign in Libya.

The company is also contracted to provide the Paveway for the country’s Joint Strike Fighter fleet.
