General Dynamics“™ Electric Boat subsidiary won $25.2 million in two Navy contracts to provide maintenance services for nuclear submarines and one carrier, the company announced Tuesday.
Under the first contract, worth $15.4 million, the company will perform shipyard tasks in areas of engineering, design and prefabrication for the USS Annapolis.
More than 150 employees will perform the tasks at the subsidiary’s Groton, Conn. shipyard.
The subsidiary expects to finish work by December 2012.
The second contract, worth $9.8 million, is for repair work on six submarines and one carrier at the Puget Sound Naval Shipyard in Bremerton, Wash.
The subsidiary expects to finish that project by October 2012.
The parent company’s information technology unit won an estimated $27 million contract last week to support the Meteorology and Oceanography Command at Stennis Space Center in Mississippi.
