Deloitte has appointed Tim Tuerff to lead the company“™s Washington national tax practice, the professional services organization announced Monday.
He will succeed Dean Stumvoll after he steps down from the position on May 31.

He previously served as special assistant to the chief counsel of the Internal Revenue Service and has testified before the House Ways and Means subcommittee on select revenue measures.

He also contributes to publications including Tax Notes and Tax Notes International, the American Bar Association“™s International Franchising Journal, Joint Ventures & Other Strategic Alliances and Tax Planning for Domestic and Foreign Partnerships.
Deloitte LLP CEO Joe Echevarria told a White House audience Friday that the company will commit $60 million over three fiscal years to provide pro bono work for nonprofit organizations.
