Symantec Corp. and Experian will provide a two-factor credentialing solution to the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services, the companies announced Wednesday.

The companies said they will provide enterprise remote identity proofing and multi-factor authentication credential services that will play a role on SAIC Inc.’s $78 million contract with CMS.

Symantec said the combined solution consists of Experian“™s identity proofing and verification offerings.

The solution also utilizes Symantec“™s authentication security-as-a-service solution aiding to deliver secure online identity credentials, the companies said.

The joint offering includes access to business resources, enterprise applications and websites.

Access requires a one-time use, six-digit security code.

The combined solution provides access to the State and Federal Health Insurance Exchange in compliance with the National Institute of Standards and Technology“™s electronic authentication guidelines.
