Northrop Grumman Corp. has won a potential $25.5 million Navy contract to provide sensors, processors and technical data for a threat warning system.
The Defense Department said Wednesday the Navy will receive 110 sensors and 200 processors for the system, a subsystem of the Large Aircraft Infrared Countermeasures System.
The company’s electronic systems sector received the undefinitized contract action and $10,980,000 in contract funding will expire at the end of this fiscal year.
The land and self-protection systems division will perform work in Rolling Meadows, Ill.
The Pentagon expects work to finish in March 2015.
The Naval Air Systems Command in Patuxent River, Md. is the contracting activity.
The Falls Church, Va.-based contractor will also provide the Navy with an antisubmarine magnetic sensor.
The Navy will use the sensor for antisubmarine warfare missions by drones, standard aircraft and submarines.
