L-3 Subsidiary to Make Imaging Subsystems for Navy Command, Control - top government contractors - best government contracting eventL-3 Communications’ KEO subsidiary won an $11,120,335 Navy contract modification to provide electronic imaging subsystems for submarines, the Defense Department announced Wednesday.

The subsidiary will also provide spare photonics masts and associated engineering services.

The Navy uses the subsystems within command and control systems on SSN 788 and SSN 789 submarines.

The subsystems have visible, infrared sensors and stealth features.

The Pentagon expects the work to finish in January 2009.

The Naval Sea Systems Command in Washington is the contract activity.

L-3 completed its acquisition of the electronic and optical systems maker in February.

The company integrated the former Danaher Corp. unit into its integrated sensor systems organization.
