ATK won a $24, 1303,179 Army contract to provide projectile gun units in support of the Air Force, the Defense Department announced Friday.

The Arlington, Va.-based contractor will manufacture PGU-13 D/B cartridges in Mesa, Ariz.

The Army received two bids through Internet solicitations.

The Pentagon expects work to finish on May 31, 2014.

The Army Contracting Command in Rock Island, Ill. is the contracting activity for the firm-fixed-price contract.

The company is also contracted to provide up to 450 million ammunition rounds to the Department of Homeland Security and Immigrations and Customs Enforcement.

Ron Johnson, security and sporting group president, said the company will provide HST bullets for border control operations.

That contract has one base year and four option years.
