ICF International won an $11.5 million contract extension to continue supporting the Southern Maryland Electric Cooperative‘s energy programs.
ICF announced Tuesday it will continue to promote energy efficiency in various consumer markets for SMECO over a period of 36 months.
ICF also won a $6 million Environmental Protection Agency contract on Tuesday to develop educational materials for clean energy initiatives.
Mike Mernick, an ICF senior vice president, said ICF will build local technical infrastructure to help SMECO deliver energy programs.
ICF will be responsible for promoting home and commercial programs for lights and appliances, home energy audits and energy use in commercial facilities.
ICF will also educate homeowners on ENERGY STAR, energy saving benefits and energy efficiency standards to homeowners.
Jeff Shaw, SMECO environmental programs and energy conservation manager, said ICF and SMECO partner to provide coupons for energy efficient appliances and large commercial customers with major projects.
