
Barbie Bigelow is chief information officer at TASC, a systems engineering and advisory services provider to the intelligence community, Defense Department and civilian agencies.
In her position, she leads the company’s information strategy, collaboration efforts, enterprise systems, technology and security.
Prior to joining TASC, Bigelow was CIO for Lockheed Martin’s electronic systems business. She was responsible for the unit’s IT strategy and service delivery performance.
Bigelow was also a part of a team that consolidated Lockheed Martin“™s shared services to form the enterprise business services organization.
Bigelow’s prior assignments include director for business-to-business initiatives, program manager for undersea lifetime support and performance-based logistics, program manager for the Health and Human Services business and manager for advanced technology business development.
Bigelow has also accomplished special tasks in strategic planning, emerging market analysis and program management curriculum/certification development.
She began her IT career as a statistical researcher at Oak Ridge National Laboratories. She also spent time as a programmer and researcher working on early parsing and mark-up languages used for HTML at IBM.
She is a Certified Program Management Professional and a member of the CIO Executive Council.
Bigelow earned her master’s in computer science from the University of Tennessee.
