A team including Lockheed Martin, the Army‘s Program Executive Office for Aviation and the Army’s Apache Program Management Office has received the 2011 U.S. Secretary of Defense Performance Based Logistics Award for the modernized target acquisition designation sight/pilot night vision sensor, also known as Arrowhead, for the AH-64D Apache attack helicopter.
Lockheed said in a release the team received the sub-system level award. The awards are given to government/industry teams that demonstrate achievement in providing operational capability to warfighters.
“The M-TADS/PNVS PBL program supports over 670 U.S. Army Apache aircraft in 25 battalions worldwide, including multiple forward operating bases,“ said David Belvin, Lockheed program director of Apache fire control programs. “These critical supportability efforts contribute to the overall mission success of the Apache and the soldier.“
