Booz Allen Hamilton will help improve enterprise system support processes at the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention under a three-year, $43 million task order announced Thursday.
As a single vendor, CDC awarded Booz Allen the CIMS vehicle’s information systems lot. Booz Allen Senior Vice President Susan Penfield told ExecutiveBiz the company will support CDC’s full software portfolio, including the agency’s process for managing the vaccine supply chain and its system for reporting violent deaths.
“Single vendor allows the vendor to have more input into the software development progress,” Penfield said. “We want to do analytics across different systems, from human resources to finances and grants. They could potentially be pushed into the cloud.”
This is the first order the company has won on CDC’s Information Management Services contract vehicle.
Booz Allen said it also will help establish a new process to measure project cost and schedule estimates and build on those findings to drive improvements.
On top of providing information technology consulting and project management office support, contract work will also include designing and operating applications, managing and reporting data and supporting SharePoint collaboration.
Under previous contracts, Booz Allen has worked with CDC since 2003 in management consulting, IT consulting and program management support.
