Symantec, along with Mocana and Codenomicon, will host the “Amphion Forum: Medical“ at the MD&M Conference in Minneapolis on Nov. 3. The summit consists of technology leaders who will address security breaches, hacks and vulnerabilities recently reported in a range of electronic medical devices.
“Security has always been a digital health issue, but traditionally security requirements have been driven by the regulatory requirement to protect electronic health records (EHR),“ said Adrian Turner, CEO of Mocana. “The issue has taken on new urgency, however, since recent demonstrations of wireless hacks on devices like implanted insulin pumps and defibrillators.“
Attendees of the event will participate in interactive sessions that will explore the most innovative ideas for realizing the potential of the “Internet of Things“ in healthcare. Event organizers say they want to create a “World Economic Forum-type“ environment where experts can share their ideas for solving the problems facing the global device infrastructure.
