
The National Cyber Security Alliance announced today the 8th Annual National Cybersecurity Awareness month to be held throughout the month of October. This year“™s theme, “Our Shared Responsibility,“ emphasizes on everyone having a role in securing their part in cyberspace.
NCSA in a partnership with the Department of Homeland Security and the Multi-State Information Sharing and Analysis Center, have sponsored National Cybersecurity Awareness Month every October since 2003. They have worked to empower schools, consumers, businesses and government agencies to stay safe online.
Companies, organizations, libraries and universities among others, are participating in a variety of activities in the month of October including McAfee who is featuring its McAfee Cyber Security Resource Portal. Verizon is incorporating NCSA security messaging into its ongoing “Security Leadership“ campaign.
NCSA is offering resources to help combat online security threats through its STOP. THINK. CONNECT. campaign. It is the first ever coordinated message to help all digital citizens stay safer and more secure online. The campaign was created by a coalition of private companies, non-profits and government organizations.
