MITRE Corporation-operated Department of Defense Command, Control, Communications, and Intelligence Federally Funded Research and Development Center has been renamed the National Security Engineering Center. MITRE’s role in operation remains unchanged.
“The new name better reflects the broad spectrum of our work program for customers across the DoD and Intelligence Community and their mission partners,” said Raymond Haller, director of the NSEC and a MITRE senior vice president.
The DoD FFRDC Management Plan issued in May by Defense Undersecretary Ashton Carter made this change as well as replacing the Office of the Assistant Secretary of Defense for Networks and Information Integration and DoD Chief Information Officer as the government sponsor for the FFRDC.
