Hughes Communications India, a majority owned subsidiary of Hughes Network Systems, recently announced it has received 5,000 orders for setting up Vsat terminals of “Brown Label“ ATM service providers across the country since January of this year.
A “Brown Label“ ATM has hardware and a lease that is under ownership of the service provider, while connectivity, cash handling and management is the responsibility of the sponsor bank. Out of a total of 75,000 ATMs, 18, 500 ATMs have been installed using Hughes Vsat technology.
“Setting up Brown Label ATMs is an added step in the same direction as it stresses for the need to increased ATM activity as well as stating that a network partnership is the key to growth,“ said Shivaji Chatterjee, vice president of Enterprise Business, Hughes Communication. “Brown Label ATMs is the model the industry is now moving towards and Hughes is the preferred industry partner.“
