Hewlett-Packard Australia Pty ltd. has signed a technology services agreement where it will design, build and maintain a part of the information, communication and technology systems for the South Australia Government’s next-generation hospital.
The new Royal Adelaide Hospital will be the first to use version 2.0 of the HP Digital Hospital Solution as the technology foundation resulting in a lesser cost to the government and will serve as a future benchmark for Australia’s medical institutions.
HP will provide an integrated solution built on HP Converged Infrastructure which will result in virtualized, clustered and dual-redundant systems linking South Australia Government’s enterprise systems with critical hospital systems. This will include building engineering systems, automatically guided vehicle system, communications systems, real-time location systems and the integration of nurse call system, picture archiving and communication system.
“With the cost of healthcare and patient numbers on the rise worldwide, South Australia is getting ahead of the dire need for better care delivered more efficiently to keep up with the growing demand from its citizens,” said Alan Bennett, vice president, Enterprise Services, HP South Pacific. “HP is uniquely qualified to leverage technology across markets, improving operational efficiency and enabling care coordination to help the new Royal Adelaide Hospital improve patient outcomes and be a leader in healthcare information technology innovation.”
