Raytheon announced today the appointment of Kevin Brown as vice president of the company’s Fort Meade operations and deputy of the Information Security Solutions product line. Brown comes to Raytheon from SAIC, where he was most recently senior vice president in charge of the cybersecurity services and solutions operation.
According to Raytheon, Brown will lead business development and site operations at the company’s Fort Meade, Md., offices, which provide support to the U.S. government in critical areas such as information operations and information assurance, as well as signals intelligence.
“For decades, Raytheon has been working with the Department of Defense and the intelligence community to protect their classified computer networks and information from complex attacks and data loss,” said Steve Hawkins, vice president of Information Security Solutions for the company’s Intelligence and Information Systems. “Kevin Brown’s appointment signals the installation of Raytheon senior leadership at Fort Meade — an advance that will help ensure that our operationally proven cybersecurity capabilities are fully accessible, scaled and adaptable to ever-evolving needs.”
Earlier in his career, Brown was an associate professor and lecturer at The George Washington University. While there, he developed and taught a system development curriculum for the Master of Science-Management Information Systems program, concentrating on systems analysis, design and implementation. He also served as a U.S. Navy officer. Brown is a certified information security manager.
