When AT&T pros prepare to deliver customized information technology solutions to the federal government, Thomas Harvey is the boss they report to. As the manager of technology development through AT&T Labs and other divisions, Harvey shares 26 years of telecommunications experience with his employees.
Upon receiving his Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical and Computer Engineering from the University of Wisconsin ““ Madison, Harvey began his career working as a transmission engineer at Wisconsin Bell.
That first job paved the way for several others, leading to various positions in the fields of network operations, international business development, customer operations, sales management, and global managed services and outsourcing.
Prior to his work with AT&T, Harvey spent six years with Ameritech International, where he was in charge of international business development initiatives in areas including China, Central Europe, Western Europe, Latin America, South America, Scandinavia and the Pacific Rim. This period included a yearlong stay in Poland, where he worked with Ameritech partner France Telecom to establish Poland“™s first cellular operator, Centertel.
Outside of work, Harvey is devoted to many community service projects, including his work as board president of The Ladder Alliance in Fort Worth, Texas, an organization that provides skill development for abused and at-risk women in Tarrant County, Texas. He also serves on the board of directors of the YMCA of Metropolitan Dallas and is a member of the Executive Leadership Council.
