Enterprise and mobile software company Sybase, Inc. has been honored with China“™s Centre for Information Industry Development Consulting “2010-2011 Most Successful Database Software Vendor in China” award, the only enterprise company to receive this award two years in a row.
CCID Consulting, an IT research institute in China, reports that Sybase is now the second-highest ranked database software vendor in the Chinese telecommunications market. The latest IT Application Market 2010-2011 annual report estimates that Sybase’s database has garnered 25.1 percent market share in the telecommunications industry, 25 percent in the banking industry and 24.1 percent in the insurance industry.

Sybase noticed a sizable gain in telecommunications business last year, when the company secured orders for its mobility solution from China Telecom, China Unicom and China Mobile in addition to landing public sector customers including the Supreme People’s Court and Ministry of Railways.
