Salient Federal Solutions, a provider of federal IT and engineering solutions, today took part in World IPv6 Day to call attention to the need to transition government networks to Internet Protocol version 6.
During the event, Salient released free web-training videos to highlight the security issues and risks associated with the switch from IPv4.
“At Salient, this is not a one-day event,” Salient’s cybersecurity leader Lisa Donnan said. “We have been helping defense and intelligence agencies prepare for a secure and smooth transition to IPv6 for several years. This series of web videos, coinciding with World IPv6 Day, will help spur agencies into action and give them a roadmap forward to a secure future.”
The training videos Real World IPv6 Attacks and Securing Networks Against IPv6 Attacks explore current and future threats, and why it is important for government agencies to adopt IPv6 on the enterprise as soon as possible, create an IPv6 cybersecurity plan, implement deep-packet inspection tools on networks, and train systems and network engineers on IPv6.
