Verizon is offering customers the opportunity to work from their mobile devices and tablets anywhere at anytime. The communications giant announced the expansion of its Managed Mobility Portfolio for access to applications on increasing variety of mobile devices and tablets.

Some of the new features include management and security for both corporate and employee-owned iOS and Android OS-based tablets. A new enterprise application portal resides on a device and enables mobile workers to obtain required business applications. The new features also include the new anti-virus and firewall capabilities to protect intellectual assets in a mobile environment.

Verizon“™s Enterprise Mobility Executive Director Carrie Gray spoke of the “mobile explosion“ of the last few years and how that has changed the way the workforce executes its job.

“The desire of employees to choose their device has left CIOs and IT departments grappling with how to protect sensitive company data,“ she said. “Verizon is creating an environment for enterprises to unleash business applications, while controlling costs and securing company assets their mobile carrier environment.“

Verizon also announced the expansion of its agreement with SAP to jointly market and sell key components of the company“™s Managed Mobility Portfolio. Customers will be able to easily access their on-premises and cloud-based SAP @ applications anytime via the Verizon business-class cloud.
