USIS President and CEO Bill Mixon is set to become a member of the Board of Advisors for Christopher Newport University(CNU)’s Center for American Studies (CAS).
CAS was formed in June 2007, seeking to “foster greater civic awareness by promoting a traditional liberal arts education on America's philosophical roots and history, national security policies, and economic foundations.”
“As a member of the Board of Advisors, Mixon will provide guidance for Center programming and assist in the Center’s outreach and fundraising initiatives,” the firm said in a statement. “CAS has initiated a major fundraising drive, as a result of being awarded a prestigious We the People Challenge Grant from the National Endowment for the Humanities.”
Mixon oversees USIS’s 7,000 employees and their work on national security contracts. The firm is the federal government’s largest provider of security investigations.
