HP Enterprise Services announced today that it has received a contract from the U.S. Air Force to integrate, test and deploy a Cyber Control System (CCS). CCS is designed to identify cyber threats and provide strategic information for U.S. cyberspace operations.

CCS, an advanced command and control system, will monitor network activity and support any defensive operations launched in response to a cyber attack against the Air Force’s IT infrastructure.

“The mission of the CCS program is to deliver command and control of infrastructure and systems as well as provide situational awareness of USAF network activities,” according to a recently released company statement. “Additionally, the system enables USAF officials to recommend real-time responses or courses of action when faced with network intrusions or attacks.”

The twelve month contract, worth $9 million, will see CCS developed and deployed in a graduated approach.

“The U.S. Air Force needs the ability to make critical decisions about networking protection instantaneously using the most accurate information available,“ said Dennis Stolkey, senior vice president, U.S. Public Sector, HP Enterprise Services. “HP“™s Cyber Control System is designed specifically for these needs and shows our commitment to innovation in cybersecurity as well as the support of the USAF“™s mission to “˜Fly, fight and win in air, space and cyberspace.“
