Indian Center Develops Plan to Counter Cyber Terrorism - top government contractors - best government contracting eventAuthorities in India are becoming increasingly concerned and vocal about the threat of cyber terrorism and cyber attacks. In an effort to meet the threat, Indian authorities have  formulated a Crisis Management Plan to counter cyber attacks that can be implemented across the government.

The new plan largely comes as a result of the findings of the University of Toronto’s “˜Shadows in the Cloud“™ report, that found that India, among other nations, was being targeted in cyber attacks that appeared to emanate from China.

The Indian government has not yet developed a coherent plan or strategy to effectively deal with the growing rate of cyber crime in the country. The Central Bureau of Investigation has a unit dedicated to cyber crime that occurs in Union territories.

Under the current Indian guidelines, government entities are not supposed to store any sensitive information on computers that are connected to the Internet. Government organizations are also advised presently to conduct regular audits of their IT systems and carry out any necessary updates.
