Congratulations to Michael Cherkasky for his appointment to C.E.O. of US Investigations Services. The responsibilities for Cherkasky will be to set corporate tactical direction, expand security services and products, and provide vision and leadership in an effort to surpass annual revenues of $750 million. As the largest provider of screening, investigation, and security related services to the U.S., USIS is now poised to expand market-share. The firm also provides such services to commercial corporations.
After joining the Kroll, Inc., team in 1994, he was quickly elevated to Executive Managing Director and C.O.O. due to aggressive and strategic leadership. Soon thereafter, Mr. Cherkasky was promoted to president and C.E.O. where his leadership reversed years of poor financial results and ushered in revenues of close to $500 million“”a corporate milestone. While shattering records at Kroll, he also was a court-appointed overseer of the International Brotherhood of Teamsters, the Long Island Carting industry, and the L.A.P.D. Kroll was acquired by Marsh & McLennan Companies in 2004, where Mr. Cherkasky was president and C.E.O. and a member of the board of directors before arriving at USIS.
At Case Western Reserve University, Cherkasky earned a B.A. in History and a J.D., and then began a long and distinguished 16 year career in law enforcement before entering the corporate world. During that period, he served in many, many capacities: as a trial attorney, law clerk in the U.S. District Court, investigator, Assistant District Attorney, an administrator, and Chief of the Rackets Bureau.
