I am not the only one that“™s noticed my Facebook invitations are increasing and my Linked-In invitations are falling. Having well over 500 connections on Linked-In, I feel connected but stabilized in my number of connections. Facebook, on the other hand is building up steam.

Facebook, once reserved for students, recently opened up their site to anyone that wanted to join. The response was overwhelming and The Wall St. Journal this week referred to Facebook as an “online gold rush“. It seems that Facebook is evolving past Linked-In because it is more customizable and allows independent developers to write applications that work within their user community.
