    The World TeamTennis Pro League, a professional tennis league co-founded in 1974 by Billie Jean King, said that it has added a new franchise in DC owned by a group led by local venture capitalist and entrepreneur Mark Ein. The Washington Kastles will play their seven home matches at a location to be announced, with the regular-season running from July 3-23. Ein is the founder and CEO of DC-based Venturehouse Group. Ein acquired Kastle Systems International, a DC-based provider of in-building and office security systems. Ein called the team "an exciting summertime addition to our local economy and a fun activity for our entire community. Read more.

    Muscular Dystrophy Association (MDA)

    The Muscular Dystrophy Association (MDA), a national voluntary health agency working to eradicate more than 43 neuromuscular diseases, has confirmed its entertainment for their 6th annual Heartsongs Gala at the Marriott Wardman Park in Washington, D.C. on February 23, 2008. Both Tony Danza and Radio King Orchestra will be performing live at the event for over 800 prominent Washingtonians. All funds raised at the Heartsongs Gala will help over 5,000 families MDA serves in the Washington area through financial assistance with medical equipment, local clinic visits, a summer camp program and research support.
