  1. What is the difference between ExecutiveBiz membership and Potomac Officers Club membership?
They are two different companies that work together through a strategic marketing agreement. Both organizations have their own membership organizations, balance sheets and events programs.

Since 2002, The Potomac Officers Club (POC) has been a non-profit trade organization of area CXOs that meet once a month to network and listen to a “headline speaker on a headline topic”. To qualify to be a member of the POC one must be a CXO of a company that meet or exceeds $10 - $15M million in annual revenue. POC members, as a courtesy, may attend ExecutiveBiz events, however, ExecutiveBiz members do not have this same courtesy to attend POC events.

ExecutiveBiz is a newer membership organization for the region’s executive leaders. Our organization offers members events, career development resources, workshops, discounts on products and services from the companies of members, and member run special interest groups. From time to time, ExecutiveBiz will hold joint events with POC. Our first joint event was held in May 2005 with Jack Welch as the guest speaker.

  6. Who can attend ExecutiveBiz events?
Both members and non-members (at a higher rate) are invited to attend events. However, in the future, events will only be open to members, sponsors, and endorsers. At some events a few seats are set aside for non-members. Members can also bring a guest, though there is a limit on how often a non-member can be a guest.

  7. What is the typical format for an ExecutiveBiz event?
All of our events begin with a thirty minute networking session, giving members and non-members a chance to meet one another and form business relationships. At the end of the networking, the speakers/panelists are introduced and present for approximately one hour. Once the speaker/panel is finished presenting, the room is opened up for questions from the audience. We know that our members and guests are very busy people, so we make sure that our events begin and end on time and transition seamlessly and do not take up too much time.

"Having the opportunity to interact with business executives across a variety of sectors provides great insight into market needs and trends as well as potential opportunities for business collaboration. Participating in events and gatherings with subject matter experts also provides a broader view of opportunities to favorably influence the public policy discussion on behalf of important economic and quality of life issues that impact our community and this country. I look forward to being an active participant."
