AT&T has been named a teammate on DXC Technology‘s pursuit of the Next Generation Enterprise Network recompete contract for information technology services to the U.S. Navy and U.S. Marine Corps.

Virginia-based DXC, which currently holds the $3.5 billion NGEN contract, said in a press release it is forming an industry team to chase the follow-on award.

Marilyn Crouther, senior vice president and general manager of DXC’s public sector business, said the company partnered with AT&T in a move to address Department of the Navy requirements through NGEN and seeks to build upon its previous work on the Navy Marine Corps Intranet program.

Mike Leff, vice president of AT&T’s defense segment, said the telecommunications firm aims to offer networking services to the Navy and Marine Corps as part of DXC’s recompete team.

DXC was formed through Computer Sciences Corp.‘s merger with the enterprise services segment of Hewlett Packard Enterprise and inherited the NGEN contract that HPE Enterprise Services previously held.

The contract was originally awarded in June 2013 and is scheduled to expire in June this year.
